West Africa’s ECOWAS Brown Card motor insurance will go digital from January 2027

Opening the 42nd General Assembly of the Council of Bureaux in Dakar on Tuesday, the scheme’s permanent secretary general said digital certificates would be rolled out across the region from January 2027. The aim: retire a paper document that is hard to check and speed up payouts to accident victims who are left waiting.
