Senegal’s Social Security Fund (CSS) has started paying some benefits via Wave. Beneficiaries who choose this option receive the money in their account, without having to go to an office.

How to sign up

You sign up by filling in a form, either at a CSS office or online through a Wave form. For any questions, the CSS gives a free number, 800 222 222, available Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and on Friday from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The launch comes a few days after the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Samba Diouf, visited Wave on 10 September to discuss the use of mobile money in public services.
